The Journey into new ventures

footprints across the beach black and whiteSo I have been a little MIA lately in keeping my personal photography blog up to date. There have been some great reasons that are behind this. Over the last 4 months, I have been trying to find the rhythm and balance as I have been exploring some new ventures and making plans for a new journey. In April, I opened a gallery, Orange County Creatives, that provides me with a great opportunity to regularly showcase my own fine art photography as well as provide a great resource to help other emerging artists connect with opportunities to be seen.

Here is our vision and mission:

We believe that art is important and that artists have something valuable to contribute to our world. There are many emerging artists with talent and passion but they often lack the resources, time, and skills needed get their work seen and appreciated by those who would be willing to purchase their work. Our belief is that these emerging artists with the right resources and assistance can progress towards their goals. We are committed to connecting artists with opportunities to be seen.

Our first showcase featured 9 local emerging artists. The demand and interest in local artists seeking reasonably priced opportunities to be seen has exploded right in front of my eyes. During June and July the gallery had the opportunity to host 23 to 27 artists each month during the monthly showcase. We have built relationships and sought ways to continue to provide a venue for our artists to showcase their work. Through our July 6 showcase we have worked with 56 artists.

The vision continues to grow and morph as the gallery has gained experience and explored ways to continue to make effective and meaningful ways for artists to be seen and connect with interested lovers and buyers of art.  Tonight we start our second of many new ventures into the art world to assist local artists as we host the first of our monthly themed juried photography showcases. Tonight we will have the pleasure of hosting 10 photographers showcasing 30 works of art based around the theme of “Exploring Black and White Photography“. The exhibit’s opening reception is tonight from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Santora Building (207 N Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92701). If you are local please join us tonight or come by the gallery on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 from noon to 5 pm to see the diverse and powerful 30 black and white photos we are showcasing.

These showcases are entitled, All Art Juried Showcases centered on the color Red. At some point soon, we will be adding an opportunity to work with a select group of local emerging artists helping market their work directly to prospective art clients and offering studio space for local photographer’s in need of space to shoot.

It is very exciting and I look forward to letting you all share with me the joys and challenges of the journey and my own photography as I find the rhythm and balance on the path. Please take some time to learn about Orange County Creatives and our vision of connecting artists with opportunites to be seen.
